Telangana Traffic Cop Suspended for Accepting Bribe - Video
A telangana traffic officer was suspended after a video of him reportedly taking a bribe went viral on social media. The officer was allegedly seen receiving a bribe from a person and pocketing it in the footage of the event in Hanamkonda, Telangana. Two days after the incident, warangal police Commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha issued an order suspending the officer.
In Telangana's Hanamkonda, a traffic officer was caught on tape taking bribes from passengers who seemed to be stopped on the road. Sub-Inspector David was witnessed collecting money from a guy on the side of the road and pocketing it while conversing with the subject. Ambar Kishor Jha, the warangal police Commissioner, suspended David two days after the assault was captured on tape.
Earlier, The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) detained a civilian for reportedly collecting payments from tourists bringing alcohol into gujarat from the Union Territory of Diu, where state prohibition rules do not apply. A court in Gir somnath sentenced the accused, Nileshkumar Abhesinghbhai Tadvi, to six days in the custody of the gujarat anti-corruption bureau on Friday.
According to acb officers, the accused, who were stationed at the Mandvi (Ghoghla) checkpoint under the jurisdiction of Una police station, would stop vehicles at the checkpoint and, upon discovering liquor bottles in such vehicles, would demand a bribe to let such offenders pass instead of prosecuting them under the gujarat Prohibition Act.
