Lok Sabha breach accused wanted to form a political outfit - Reports
Investigators said on friday that the men and women who penetrated parliament security and sprayed yellow smoke inside the lok sabha intended to gain media attention and start a political party because they believed it was the only way to express their opinions. During his interrogation, key accused Sagar Sharma - one of the two men who vaulted from the visitors' gallery onto the lok sabha flood on wednesday - told police that an earlier plan was to set themselves ablaze outside parliament, but it was later abandoned.
"He stated that to form a political party, they needed to do something that would attract media attention." He stated that they did not want to join any other political party since their ideologies did not data-align," an investigator stated, citing Sharma.
According to the investigator, the gang intended to light themselves on fire outside parliament and even planned to purchase a gel-like material to prevent them from really burning. "He said that they tried to buy this gel online and also collected money but couldn't get through with the payment," the law enforcement official said.
