Telangana Elections 2023 - Key constituencies and candidates in focus

The telangana assembly elections, which are slated for Thursday, will feature a triangular struggle between the governing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the bharatiya janata party (BJP), and the Congress. All 119 constituencies will vote from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here's a look at major constituencies that will affect the political landscape in the hours before voters show up at voting places.

The list of important constituencies includes Gajwel, huzurabad, Korutla, Maheshwaram, Goshamahal, Mahbubnagar, LB Nagar, warangal East and West, Bhupalapally, Khairatabad, Amberpet, Boath, Nirmal, Adilabad, Ramagundam, peddapalli, Kothagudem, Armoor, nizamabad Urban, Patancheru, Serilingampally, Husnabad, Dubbak, Kalwakurthy, and others.

K Chandrashekar Rao, the incumbent chief minister and the founder of BRS, is running from two seats: his native Gajwel seat and Kamareddy. kcr won Gajwel by more than 58,000 votes in the 2018 elections. In Gajwel, he will fight bjp leader Etela Rajender, while in Kamareddy, he will data-face congress state unit chairman revanth Reddy.

His son, telangana minister K T Rama Rao, is running from the sircilla seat, which he won by a large majority of over 89,000 votes in 2018. Etela Rajender and revanth reddy are both running from two seats, Etela in huzurabad and revanth in Kodangal. The bjp has fielded lok sabha member arvind dharmapuri against BRS's Kalvakuntla Sanjay and Congress' Narsinga Rao Juvvadi in Korutla. BRS has put Patlolla Sabitha indra Reddy (Congress) against K Laxma reddy (Congress) and Andela Sriramulu Yadav (BJP) in Maheshwaram. t raja singh of the bjp, whose suspension was lifted last month, is running against strong opposition in Goshamahal.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, the younger brother of AIMIM chairman asaduddin owaisi and a vocal opponent of the BJP's T Raja, is running from the Chandrayangutta constituency. srinivas GOUD' target='_blank' title='v srinivas goud-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">v srinivas goud (BRS) is up against ap mithun Kumar reddy of the bjp and Yennam srinivas reddy of the congress in Mahbubnagar. Sama ranga reddy of the bjp data-faces madhu yaskhi Goud of the congress and Devireddy sudhir reddy (BRS) in LB Nagar.

Korukanti Chander patel of the BRS data-faces up against Makkan Singh raj Thakur of the congress and Kandula sandhya Rani of the bjp in Ramagundam.


Chinthakunta Vijaya ramana Rao of the congress is running against pradeep Kumar Dugyala of the bjp and Dasari Manohar reddy of the BRS for the peddapalli seat. The Madhira assembly constituency will be contested between congress leader Mallu bhatti vikramarka and BRS's Kamal Raju Lingala, with Bhatti previously winning by a narrow margin. Similarly, BRS has fielded Goverdhan Bajireddy in nizamabad Urban against Bhoopathi reddy Rekulapally (Congress) and Dinesh Kumar Kulachari of the BJP.

While the bjp aims to form its first government in telangana, the congress hopes to gain power based on the "momentum" of the last few months. However, the party data-faces a nearly 18% disparity in terms of voting percentage in recent assembly elections.
