Israel - Hamas War : Jordan says UN silence led to 'barbarism' of Israel's Gaza hospital raid

SIBY JEYYA
Jordan accused the UN Security Council on wednesday of allowing Israel's "barbarism" in raiding Gaza's primary hospital by remaining silent. "The catastrophe in Al-Shifa hospital shows the barbarism UNSC's silence is allowing," Foreign minister Ayman Safadi wrote on X, commenting on the overnight operation by Israeli troops. “We condemn the silence on this brutality. It is providing cover for war crimes. It is unacceptable, and unjustifiable. The Council must act.”
Israel stated it is conducting "a precise and targeted operation against Hamas" inside the al-Shifa hospital. In a statement, the israel Defence Forces stated they had "conveyed to the relevant authorities in Gaza once more that all military activities within the hospital must cease within 12 hours." Regrettably, it did not." The IDF has also requested that the Hamas operatives in the hospital surrender.
According to the Associated press and the BBC, Israeli tanks are present in the hospital compound. According to Mohammed Zaqout, the director of hospitals in Gaza, Israeli tanks have invaded the al-Shifa medical facility. "The troops attacked the structures. The patients, some of whom are youngsters, are afraid. They are yelling. It's a scary scenario... all we can do for the patients is pray." According to the UN, at least 2,300 patients, workers, and displaced residents are stuck within the hospital after days of violent warfare and aircraft bombardment.
