Why India has not declared Hamas as a terrorist..?
In spite of the horrific and barbaric incursion into israel on october 7 by militants from the Palestinian extremist group Hamas, india has not yet designated Hamas as a terrorist group. Talk about this has been more heated. The unique reason for this is that, in an interview with the media last Wednesday, Israel's ambassador to india, Naor Gillon, stated that india has a significant global voice and that, like other nations, it ought to designate Hamas as a terrorist group. He made it clear, though, that he is not applying pressure to india because that country is also dealing with terrorism; rather, he is merely making demands.India has yet to release a formal comment.India hasn't made an official comment in this regard, despite this. prime minister Narendra Modi referred to the Hamas attack as a terrorist event and swiftly denounced it. The PM also discussed standing with israel in a post on the microblogging platform X, but he avoided mentioning Hamas. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi has now made it clear that designating any organization as a terrorist organization is a legal process and that the Foreign Ministry cannot make that determination in response to the Israeli Ambassador's request.
