Beautifying Chennai - People welcome the clean maintenance
In this case, the next step was to install more than 200 improved electronic toilets on behalf of the Corporation, along major roads and bus stations in Chennai. But these were not well received by the townspeople. And while these often break down, currently only 60 electronic toilets are functioning in Chennai.
Subsequently, last year the chennai Corporation had planned to set up new make-up rooms with space for people across the city. Accordingly, the project work was started in march last year to construct make-up rooms in chennai under the Swachh india scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 51.08 crore. So far, 250 new make-up rooms have been constructed in the chennai Corporation areas.
The residents of the city who have welcomed these toilets, have similarly requested to improve the facilities and properly maintain the public toilets that are already being used in Chennai.
