Sadhus fasted to demand that Vadalur be declared a holy city
In Vadalur there are Sathya Gnana Sabha and Sathya dharma Road established by Vallalar. Jyoti darshan is held here every month on Pusa nakshatram day and Taipusa Jyoti darshan in Thai month. Not only tamil Nadu, but also many pious people from all over the world will participate in the ceremony. On behalf of Vadalur Sanmarka Sadhus Sangam, they started a hunger strike today (July 25) at a private place in front of satya Gnana Sabha, demanding that Vadalur, where Vallalar lived, be declared a holy city without alcohol and meat.
Tirupur Sadhu Subramanian of the association presided. More than 15 people including Sadhus Arikrishnan, Raja, Satish, Ramalingam, sridhar participated. They were fasting from 8 am.
On being informed about this, the Vadalur police went to the spot and told the sadhus who were fasting that they should not fast without permission. They said take proper permission and fast. After this, at 12.30 in the afternoon, the sadhus, who gave up their hunger strike, took formal permission and said that they are going to fast again.
