A women was brutally KILLED at Chennai Railway Station.!
In the past 15 days, two women have been murdered in electric railway stations in Chennai. As a result, the question has arisen whether there is an unsafe environment for women in the railway stations in Chennai. Raji (A) Rajeshwari (34) from mgr nagar, Meenambakkam, Chennai, used to sell samosas and fruits in suburban trains. She was selling samosas as usual on wednesday night (19.07.2023) at Saidapet railway station.

Pooja, a young woman who witnessed the incident, lamented that no one who was watching the incident tried to save her. “She was doing business on the opposite side of the platform where I was. I screamed and screamed as soon as I saw her being attacked. But no one tried to save her. I saw one of the cutters running away. I called the ambulance. They said they are in D. nagar and will come soon,” said Pooja.
Pooja said that she was afraid to travel by train after yesterday's incident, "When I called the police on the phone, they gave me a different number and told me to file a complaint there. I called the number they gave, but no one picked up. How can an emergency caller know everything?” She questioned. She further said, “There was no police at the railway station at that time. I don't even know who to call for help. If there is at least one policeman on the platform, we feel safe,” pooja said.
Officials of the government Railway police (GRP) of Mambalam said that it was difficult to confirm the motive for the murder as the identity of the culprits was not yet known. “As the killers escaped in the same train, it is not known where they got off. "We are investigating those who are doing business with Raji and their families," said one of the officials investigating the case.When we spoke to Rekha, who runs the suburban train business with Raji, she said that she is discussing with her family that she might stop doing business. “Though I am not very familiar with Raji, I have seen her n business every day. When someone can kill her for some reason at the railway station and we are afraid that such a situation will happen to us in some environment. Even today I did not go to business. I came to see if anyone is there at the railway station,” she said.
