WB Election Results: Violence Still On-Overnight Clash..?

The counting of the panchayat elections, which started at 8 am on tuesday and is still going on today, appears to be going in favour of the trinamool congress (TMC), the party now in power in West Bengal. On Day 1 of counting, the election commission updated its district-by-district Gramme panchayat results at 11 p.m. TMC has won 2,571 of the 3317 Gramme Panchayats available. BJP, the TMC's closest competitor, has won 224 Gramme Panchayats. A total of 63,229-gramme panchayat seats are up for election. West Bengal's panchayat elections were marked by violence; according to the BJP, 45 persons died. Through the night, a large-scale conflict raged in Bhangar. In the altercation, there were injuries on both sides—police and ISF personnel. After some of them came under gunfire, the scene became tense. ISF employees at Bhangar demanded a recount of the votes, which sparked the entire altercation. The initial altercation broke out in Kathaliya school before moving to other locations. After being shot, another SP reportedly suffered injuries, according to reports.According to assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, more than 100 West Bengalis have sought refuge in the state due to the violence surrounding their home state's panchayat elections. The chief minister promised the populace that "any humanitarian aid during times of crisis" and noted that the people had been given shelter in a relief camp. Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the West bengal BJP, hailed Sarma for "giving relief to the tormented opposition party karyakartas of WB," but Shashi Panja, a cabinet minister in the data-bordering state, suggested that the assam cm was "raising a false alarm and creating a sense of panic."
