Niwano Peace prize winner PV Rajagopal has said that the government should stop using the police department on people who are fighting for basic rights. The 40th Niwano Peace prize of the Niwano Peace Foundation in Tokyo, japan was awarded to PV Rajagopal from kerala last June. He is working as the President of All india Ekta Parishad, which strives for the welfare of the weak, oppressed and underprivileged people.

An appreciation ceremony was held yesterday by the gandhi Peace Center in Alwarpet, Chennai, for his creative work in the Gandhian way. The event, which started with an interfaith prayer, was attended by various religious leaders and paid tribute to him.

PV Rajagopal spoke in this program and said: Even after 75 years of independence, the poor have not received due justice. The government should stop policing people who are fighting for basic rights. If people struggle for drinking water, the collector should meet them, talk to the appropriate department and get drinking water.

Apart from that, sending the police to quell the protest is useless. police cannot provide any solution. mahatma Gandhi's dream was to make people self-sufficient at the village level. Thus he spoke. Secretary of gandhi Peace Center Su. Kulandhasami and others participated in this program.
