Why Kejriwal's Ramlila Maidan rally could be litmus test for AAP ahead of 2024 polls
When the historic Anna Andolan took place here over 12 years ago, kejriwal became one of indian politics' most recognisable figures. He eventually founded the aam aadmi party and was elected Delhi's chief executive. kejriwal will now go back to the area where he first developed his political career. However, the situation is different this time, and kejriwal and his party are currently having difficulties.
Political analysts contend that the rally will also serve as the official launch of the election campaign for AAP and kejriwal in the 2024 elections. The party asserts that the rally's goal is to rally support from the general public against the Centre's ordinance restricting the powers of the elected government of Delhi. As a result, arvind kejriwal will be the centre of attention, and whether his magic wand will work is still an open issue.
The task now is to build AAP's organisation across states after achieving national party status and performing quite well in the gujarat assembly elections with 5 seats and about 13% of the vote.
Kejriwal may have started his national campaign in any other state if the situation had been normal and the ministers and delhi administration were not under duress. But given the current economic climate, kejriwal recognises how crucial it is to first prepare delhi for the next battles. Thus, he decided to hold this important gathering at the Ramlila Ground in Delhi.
