Dalai Lama Apologizes for Kissing a Boy in Public..!?
Dalai Lama has publicly apologized for kissing a boy. He also explained that he was involved in the act playfully.
Dalai Lama apologized:
In a statement released on behalf of the Dalai Lama said that recently a video has gone viral of a boy asking the Dalai Lama if he can hug him. The Dalai Lama would like to apologize to the boy, his family, and his many friends around the world if his words have caused hurt. He often teases people he meets playfully. He behaves like that in public and even in front of cameras. However, he regrets the current incident.
The video of the incident is being shared without specifying where and when it was taken. In it, he comes up to pay his respects to the Dalai Lama, who is sitting on the dais. Then he grabbed the boy who came near him and kissed him on the lips. Seeing this, everyone there laughed. A few seconds later, the Dalai Lama stuck his tongue out of his mouth and urged him to kiss it. At first, the boy goes back to protest. But as the Dalai Lama was holding his hand, he kissed the Dalai Lama's tongue and left.
Accumulating Condemnations:
The video related to this has now caused a lot of controversies. While one party is strongly criticizing what Dalai Lama did as a violation, another party is justifying that Dalai Lama kissed the boy as a game.
Continuing Controversy:
This is not the first time the Dalai Lama has been embroiled in controversy. Last year in 2019, a comment about a woman's appearance by saying that she should be "attractive" drew criticism from around the world. After his comments were widely criticized as "sexist," the Dalai Lama apologized for his comments and has now issued a second apology.
Dalai Lama in India:
It has been almost 60 years since the Dalai Lama left his Buddhist monastery in the Dhauladhar range and settled in Dharamsala, India, after allegedly supporting an anti-government uprising in China.
