The fact that RRR's Naatu Naatu won the oscar for Best Original Song is something we can all be really proud of. The Naatu Naatu song composer, MM keeravani, gave the following speech after receiving the honor. I'm grateful, Academy! I listened to carpenters as a child, and now here I am at the Oscars. keeravani sang, "There was only one wish on my mind, So was Rajamouli's and my family's!" in a few straight lines. The pride of every indian depends on rrr winning! and must make me feel like the world's best!

Karthikeya and Variance films deserve credit for making this happen. I adore you all. Thank you, keeravani exclaimed. chandrabose said "Namaste" to end his address. Loud applause and cheering could be heard from the crowd. The song's lyrics and composition by MM keeravani and chandrabose are each given the Oscar.

Keeravani wowed the crowd by singing a large portion of his acceptance speech to a Carpenters classic. There was only one thing on his mind: "'RRR' needs to win, pride of every indian, and must put me on top of the world," he sang, before saying, "I grew up listening to the Carpenters and now here I am with the Oscars."
