Selling sleeping pills without a doctor's prescription is illegal..!?
It was found that a drug shop on Thiruvanmiyur beach Road, chennai had purchased a large number of painkillers and sold them without proper sales receipts. The tamil Nadu government has said that psychiatric drugs and sleeping pills should be sold only with a doctor's prescription.
In a press release issued by the government of tamil Nadu in this regard;- Drug Control Department officials conducted surprise checks at retail and wholesale drug stores in chennai and its surrounding areas to monitor whether psychiatric and sleep medications are being sold for misuse.
