This Tamil Song In Global Top 5 – Music Power Or Fan Power?

SIBY JEYYA
Though many telugu and tamil songs now routinely receive 300+ million views on YouTube, a song's true success is determined by how long it remains on the Global Top music charts, where the visual aspect is not at all taken into consideration. And right now, the SS Thaman-penned "Ranjithame" song from Vijay's Varisu is dominating these international charts.

The song astonished everyone by topping the global top rankings of the well-known music streaming platform, Spotify, even though it received more than 50 million views on YouTube. Ranjithame's song ranked No. 5 on Spotify's charts for the second week of November. Many people are now speculating as to whether the song reached the very top due to its brilliant musical composition.

Thaman's "Ranjithame" song didn't sound all that original musically; rather, it seemed to be a continuation of the "Biryani" song from the Krackk movie. At the same time, the choreography by Jaani master for the visuals sounds like a remake of their own phenomenal hit song Arabic Kuthu. The song eventually reached the top, according to analysts, but it was only because Vijay's fans kept playing the song on these applications countless times. Anyway, for those who are unfamiliar with Thaman's earlier compositions, this song undoubtedly sounds fresh and upbeat, which may be another factor in its massive success.
