The Sri Lankan government considers important tourism packages and insurance discounts for travelers announced by companies such as indigo and air india as important, Sri Lankan Tourism and Lands minister Harin Fernando said during his visit to India. They said that sri lanka has no problem with tourists and they are going to pay off their debt soon with the help of the IMF.

As Sri Lanka's economy relies heavily on tourism, Sri Lankan Tourism minister Harin Fernando participated in various tourism promotion programs in Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. He plans to do similar promotional events in london and other major parts of the UK.
Currently, indigo, air india, Sri Lankan airlines, Make My Trip, and Mastercard is working together with the Sri Lankan government to develop its tourism sector. Harin Fernando also said that many celebrities are planning to invite music producers for the New Year celebration on december 31.
