Darlings: Netflix's highest non-English global opener

Recently, alia bhatt starred in the dark comedy Darlings on Netflix. The film, which tackles the delicate subject of domestic violence, is getting a lot of positive feedback from viewers. Even though the movie has just been out for a week, it is presently trending on the massive OTT platform in 16 different nations. According to a BBC story, Darlings, a Netflix streaming series, has gained international acclaim.
With more than 10 million viewing hours, the film had the largest global opening for a non-English indian film. In 16 countries in the Americas, Asia, and Africa, the movie is currently trending in the top 10 list on Netflix, according to Deadline. Among them are the UAE, Singapore, Kenya, Malaysia, Tobago, and Trinidad.
In the film Darlings, a young woman named Badrunisa marries Hamza, the guy she has loved her entire life. While Badrunisa continues to be a loving wife, Hamza never gives her the opportunity to be physically abused. Badrunisa, however, realises her error in remaining silent after a violent occurrence and decides to exact retribution. The film also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and roshan Matthew in addition to Bhatt. The movie's director is first-timer Jasmeet K Reen.
