minister Ma Subramaniam has asked people not to go outside needlessly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to avoid the hot sun. He claimed that all medical facilities were prepared to treat people who were suffering from the summer heat. The 'Exhibition of Extreme Summer Heat and Heat Wave Prevention' Awareness Exhibition in Abiramapuram, chennai, was opened by minister of Medicine and People's Welfare Ma Subramanian. Mayila T. Velu, a member of the Legislative Assembly, was in attendance, as were chennai Mayor Priya, Deputy Mayor Maheshkumar, Medical Secretary Radhakrishnan, and chennai Corporation Commissioner Kagan Deep Singh Bedi.

Minister Subramanian told reporters later in the day, "Temperatures above 100 degrees were recorded in the tamil Nadu districts of Vellore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Karur, chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Thiruvannamalai. The people should wait till hours before going outside. Increase your intake of natural, hydrating beverages. Wear cotton apparel that is loose. All medical facilities are prepared to treat those who have become ill as a result of the summer heat. The summer vacation will be decided in advance by the school's education department."

"In conjunction with the school education department, action will be done about the distribution of data-face masks for kids who come to write the general examination," he added.
