On behalf of the handloom, handloom, textile, and handloom sector, 6 crore 96 lakh 31 thousand rupees has been spent on the construction of weaving mills, showrooms, public facilities centre, and dyehouse buildings with sewage treatment facilities in Thanjavur, Karur, Virudhunagar, and Erode districts. According to a news release published by the tamil Nadu government, the handloom sector is critical to the preservation of the country's tradition and culture, as well as economic progress. Weaving has long been a traditional art form that demonstrates our skill. The tamil Nadu government has been implementing various schemes for the integrated development of the handloom, powerloom, and textile industries, as well as for the benefit of all stakeholders, particularly weavers and workers.


Accordingly, a new warehouse with 200 handlooms and other amenities was built at Kalikavalasu Industrial Weavers' Co-operative Society in Chennimalai, Erode district, at a cost of Rs. 3 crore, and a warehouse was built at a cost of Rs.1.2 crore under the Handloom Support Scheme. Virudhunagar Giant Handloom Group project constructed dye buildings with district level sewerage facilities at a cost of 1 crore 43 lakh 59 thousand rupees in Virudhunagar district, Aruppukottai and ramachandrapuram areas; The chief minister of tamil Nadu inaugurated the handloom sector buildings constructed at a total cost of 6 crore 96 lakh 31 thousand rupees.
