DMK seizes Ayodhya Mandapam after 64 years!!
The DMK administration took control of 'Ayodhya Mandapam,' and several people were detained for protesting: For 64 years, 'Shri ram Samaj' was managed. According to the temple worship committee, only a practising Hindu can be nominated as trustee, and no government official can replace it.
Tamil Nadu's 'Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE)' agency has taken over the 'Ayodhya Mandapam' in West Mambalam, Chennai. This 64-year-old temple is also known as the 'Ayodhya Ashwamedha maha Mandapam.' Despite local protests and agitation, MK Stalin's administration conducted this move on monday (April 11, 2022). Several political parties have expressed their support for the local people's protest.
People also brought up the supreme Court's ruling in this case. The appointment of a 'Executive Officer (EO)' at Teynampet's Baladandyudhpani temple was ruled unconstitutional. In this context, the 'Shri ram Samaj' has petitioned the madras High Court. Previously, the high court stated in rejecting a petition that the issue on whether the 'Ayodhya Mandapam' is a temple or not will be made through a litigation. According to reports, a big number of contributions were arriving here, which is why this decision was made.
According to the HR&CE department, there have been several allegations of mismanagement involving the administration of this location. Several persons were detained for hindering government officers' performance of their jobs. He was later freed on bond, though. According to the tamil Nadu government, contributions are received here, which is why this temple exists. In contrast to what 'Shri ram Samaj' claims, idols are not worshipped here.
