3000 Crores worth New Projects allotted for Chennai in TN Budget

After six years, the budget is filed with the chennai Corporation. Tomorrow (April 9) at the chennai Corporation Ribbon House, Corporation Mayor priya Rajan will file her financial accounts for the fiscal year 2022-2023. A total of Rs 3,000 crore would be invested on new projects. More funding are planned to be spent to stormwater drainage, health, and education, in particular.

According to the committee's report, new storm water drains are being installed in 20 locations in chennai where water levels are high. In this situation, the chief minister announced that by the next monsoon, effort will be taken to prevent water stagnation in Chennai. As a result, the corporation budget is projected to set aside between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 crore for rainwater drainage.


More money are likely to be granted to renovate the Corporation schools located near the Rainwater Drainage Department.
