Crisis in Sri Lanka - Finance Minister Sacked by President
Following the resignation of 26 ministers, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has sacked Finance minister Basil Rajapaksa, citing Sri Lanka's severe economic crisis. Due to a lack of foreign cash, the Sri Lankan government is experiencing a serious economic crisis. As a result, food, fuel, and other critical goods are restricted in Sri Lanka. The number of people who are rebelling against the government is increasing. In this background, on Sunday, a total of 26 ministers in Sri Lanka's government resigned from their jobs. Not only President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa stepped down. Meanwhile, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has fired his brother, Basil Rajapaksa, the country's finance minister.
