97% Jewellery Loan waived in Tamil Nadu
According to tamil Nadu Cooperatives minister I. Periyasamy, 97.05 percent of the 4,805 crore rupees in jewellery loans in the state have been written off. I. Periyasamy, the tamil Nadu Cooperatives minister, met with reporters today at the chennai General Secretariat. He went on to say that tamil Nadu's Chief minister, MK Stalin, has announced that all jewellery debts under five razors would be waived in the state. Following that, a hunt for counterfeit jewellery pawns and illegal jewellery loans was conducted. The loan has been waived for qualified people for the past week, and the relevant certificate and jewellery have been returned to the recipients.
Jewelery loans of Rs. 5,296 crore are being waived as part of a Rs. Jewelery debts have been waived for 12,19,106 qualified beneficiaries as a result of this. That is, 97.05 percent of those who were qualified received a discount on jewellery loans. The remaining beneficiaries will shortly have their jewellery loans forgiven.
