Ramanathapuram nagar police have arrested a man from kerala for seizing 1.036 kg of cannabis oil worth Rs 50 lakh. Sabeek (28), the son of Sarabudeen from Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, kerala, was apprehended later. Mohammad Javed Rahman, son of Jahangir sultan of Ervadi Muttaraiyar town in Ramanathapuram district, was recognised as the fugitive.
The cannabis oil was imported to sri lanka for smuggling, according to the authorities. Mohammad Javed Rahman, who managed to flee, is still active in the smuggling of cannabis to sri lanka, particularly cannabis oil. Sabeek, a kerala resident, has been in ernakulam for the treatment of his mentally ill wife for the past two and a half years. They claimed he was involved in cannabis smuggling alongside Mohammad Javed rahman from Ervadi at the time.
