Devar caste festival should be celebrated as State Festival - OPS

P.K. AIADMK co-ordinator O. Panneerselvam has called on the tamil Nadu government to declare the centenary of Mookaiya Thevar a state holiday and rename his school after his hometown of Papapatti. In this regard, he declared, "Nationalism and divinity are my two eyes," not only in words but also in action. He was elected six times in a row from the Periyakulam constituency in the first general election to the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly created under the indian Constitution, and from the Usilampatti constituency in the 1957, 1962, 1967, 1971, and 1977 elections.


Since his school days, he has been interested in public affairs and has campaigned for justice, fairness, and equality. Mookaiya Thevar, who elevated himself to nationalism and divinity, joined the All india Forward Bloc party at the national level under Netaji subhash chandra Bose and in tamil Nadu under the leadership of the blonde Muthuramalingam Thevar.


On april 4, 2022, the late P.K. As the centennial opening ceremony of Mookaiya deva is set to begin. PK went to the government Kallar school in Papapatti, his hometown, to celebrate it as a government event. The people of South tamil Nadu also want the god to be known as Mookaiya Devar.
