The launch of projects worth Rs.1.14 crore under the tamil Nadu Urban Employment Program 2021-22 took place today in Katpadi. Thuraimurugan, the tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister, was a distinguished guest who launched the project and planted seedlings. He continued, "In tamil Nadu, there have been no rural or urban local elections for the past ten years." As a result, the account specifics of how much money was received and spent remain unknown. During the previous AIADMK government, the Vellore Corporation built a Rs. 1,000 crore drinking water treatment plant in the Sarkar Thoppu region. However, it has not been fully utilised. The AIADMK government has acted corruptly in this regard.

Corruption is a given. Similarly, the AIADMK government established three parks in the neighbourhood. Currently, some of the park spaces are occupied. Those occupations will be phased out soon, and the parks will reopen to the public. The park's saplings should be watered and cared for on a daily basis. In the Katpadi Silk Mill region, the community hall is privately owned. It will be recovered as soon as possible.

The encroachments are being removed in response to a supreme court decision in tamil Nadu to eliminate water body encroachments. As the occupations are being removed, the district Collector has been asked to provide alternative housing for individuals who are already living there. Farmers are still clamouring for the Tenpennai-Balaru Link project. Due to a shortage of money, the project has been put on hold. A dam will be built across the Agaram River in the Govindwadi area soon. Godavari-Cauvery River Link, Tenpennai-Seiyaru Link, and Tamiraparani-Karumeniyaru Link are among the projects being considered.
