Education Prioritized in Tamil Nadu Budget
The tamil Nadu General Budget for 2022-23 was presented in the assembly amid much anticipation by Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan. "This budget has been developed with a focus on agricultural development, education quality, entrepreneurship promotion, women's advancement, socio-economic advancement of marginalised people, and the establishment of social justice at all levels, including environmental protection," the finance minister said.
"Since 2014, the revenue shortfall has been frighteningly huge year over year," he continued. The scenario has altered for the first time this year, and tamil Nadu's income imbalance of nearly Rs 7,000 crore is expected to decrease. In this difficult year, the fiscal deficit is expected to shrink to 3.80 percent from 4.61 percent," he said in a statement on the tamil Nadu Budget 2022-23:
• A budget of Rs. 2 crore has been set aside for a unique initiative to develop a dictionary that explains the relationship between tamil and the Indo-European language family.
• At a cost of Rs. 5 crore, Periyar's opinions would be published in print and electronic editions in 21 indian and international languages.
• Beginning this year, textbooks and notebooks will be available at a cost of Rs.
• At a cost of Rs. 5 crore, excavations will be carried out at 7 sites, field surveys at 2 sites, and pre-excavations at Korkai.
