Mahatma gandhi and his propensity towards sports!!!

The history of India's independence and his lesson of truth and non-violence, the policy of simple living and high thinking is known to all. But there are many such things related to Bapu's childhood and his life, which are rarely discussed.

One such thing is about mahatma gandhi and his inclination towards sports. mahatma gandhi had no particular interest in sports, but during his schooling in Porbandar, he was forced to engage in sports. Playing a game was made mandatory by the principal of his school. Under this, he tried his hand in cricket. One of his anecdotes related to cricket is said to be very famous. Once one of his friends Sheikh Mahtab asked him to bowl. At that time gandhiji bowled in such a way that all three stumps were uprooted at once.

The world knows that mahatma gandhi did not believe in color or caste distinction. The proof of this is also recorded in the world of cricket. During british India, a tournament of 5 teams was played in Mumbai, which was extremely popular. But the teams of this tournament were selected on religious identity i.e. Hindu Club, Parsi XI, Muslim Club, european XI.

When gandhiji came to know about this tournament in 1940, he expressed great sorrow. His criticism was given a place on their front page by all the major newspapers of that time. As a result, a proposal was made to not send the team to this tournament at Hindu Gymkhana. Voting took place on this and the resolution was passed with the victory of 37 votes. Later other teams also withdrew from it and the tournament itself was called off.
