Yet another Variant scare?

As the economy returns to its normal state and people's confidence grows, the spread of Omicron has created a situation where lockdown restrictions are once again looming. The third wave of the corona has started due to Omicron in many countries around the world. After 200 days in india, the daily corona exposure again exceeds 1 lakh. Meanwhile, news of the mixed variation of Delta and Omicron has surdata-faced, raising fears in people's minds.

Researchers in cyprus have discovered a new variant, according to Bloomberg News. This variant is said to be a combination of the more deadly type of delta and the more widespread Omicron. Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the university of cyprus, referred to it as the Deltacron variant. Bloomberg reports that this new type of variant has been found to have genetic features, such as Omicron, within the gene of the delta variant.

According to the report, Professor Kostrikis and his team have so far identified 25 infectious effects of this mixed variant. Professor Kostrikis said it remains to be seen whether this variant is more dangerous and contagious and how strong it is compared to the previous two types, Delta and Omicron.

Researchers have sent their new research to GISAID, the international organization that maintains the virus database. The news of Deltacron comes at a time when Omicron is spreading rapidly around the world. One and a half lakh cases are reported daily in india and in the United States, more than 6 lakh corona infections are diagnosed every day after an average of 7 days.
