Emergency Law to Regulate NEET Training Centers ?

SIBY JEYYA
Following claims that Rs 5,750 crore had been collected from students at private NEET training centers, the Viduthalai Siruthaigal party of tamil Nadu (LTTE) has requested the tamil Nadu government to enact an emergency ordinance to control training institutes for NEET exams. An all-party conference was convened yesterday, led by tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, to debate the NEET exemption. The Liberation Tigers of tamil Eelam (LTTE) were also present.

Regarding this, Thirumavalavan said, "Without sending the bill to the President, the governor of tamil Nadu has vetoed the bill seeking exemption from the NEET examination. Suggestions were given on behalf of the Liberation Tigers of tamil Eelam (LTTE) at a meeting of the All-Party Legislative assembly convened by tamil Nadu's chief minister on the situation on january 8, 2022.

1. The governor of tamil Nadu's action in blocking the tamilnadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical degree Courses Bill, 2021, which was unanimously passed by the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly on september 13, 2021, and submitted to the governor for approval without being sent to the President, is an insult to the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly, the tamil Nadu government, and the tamil Nadu people. The governor, who is operating in violation of the Constitution, should be removed immediately by the Central Government.

2. According to the report of Judge AK Rajan's panel appointed by the tamil Nadu government, more than 400 private NEET training centers in tamil Nadu earn over Rs. 5750 crore every year. These training institutes provide training to 99 percent of medical students enrolled in the program. In our state, there is no regulation that regulates the rates imposed at these facilities. These centers are also responsible for inequity among NEET selectors. As a result, the tamil Nadu government should pass an emergency law to control these training institutes."
