Kangana Ranaut's lyricist javed akhtar has filed an application with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court (CMM) for the issuance of a non-bailable warrant (NBW). Today, the court rejected his request and set a new date for the case's hearing. The news was announced on ANI's twitter account. To be clear, Akhtar has filed a defamation suit against the actress, stating that she made false and defamatory remarks about him in a television interview.
"Court denies kangana Ranaut's demand for issuance of the non-bailable warrant; next hearing on february 1 at Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate: Javed Akhtar's lawyer Jay Bhardwaj," ANI said. "It can be plainly deduced from the accused's conduct that she has been deploying all feasible strategies to induce unreasonable delays in the suit since the time of issuance of process by this court (Andheri metropolitan magistrate court)," according to an india tv report.
It's worth noting that the defamation complaint against Ranaut was filed in november 2020. A chief metropolitan magistrate had already denied Ranaut's motion for the criminal defamation case to be transferred. Meanwhile, kangana was recently seen in the film Thalaivii. Her following films are dhaakad and Tejas. She has recently revealed a new film, The Incarnation: Sita, which she will star in alongside Alaukik Desai.
