Who owns 'Veda Nilayam'? Jayalalithaa: Judgment..!

Judgment is to be given today in the ongoing case of deepa and  Deepak, who banned the conversion of the Veda house of the late chief minister jayalalithaa into a memorial house.

The late former tamil Nadu chief minister jayalalithaa lived in a house called Veda Illam in Poise Garden, Chennai. 


Following this, Edappadi Palanisamy, the then chief minister, announced in 2017 that the house would be turned into a memorial after his death.


Following this, the Poise Garden residents and the late chief minister Jayalalithaa's nephew deepa and deepak filed a case in the chennai High court against the state government's move to take over the land.


The verdict in the case, which has been pending for months, is due out this afternoon. chennai High court Judge N. Seshasai is giving this verdict in this regard.

Deepa and deepak had earlier argued that the lawless state had no power over the acquisition of personal property and that it was wrong to fix the compensation at Rs 67.90 crore per house without consulting them.

At the same time, it was reported that the government had sought the views of all parties before taking over the house and that deepak and deepak had not been supportive of jayalalithaa when she data-faced various problems, both politically and personally.
