In an instance of sexual harassment, the female SP testified for 6 hours in a confined room in Villupuram court. A female SP filed a complaint in
april alleging sexual harassment by a former DGP of the
tamil Nadu Police. Following that, both the Special DGP of the
police and the Chengalpattu SP who aided him were fired. A
police probe into the sexual harassment complaint was also requested by the CBCID. Following this, the Villupuram CBCID
police filed a complaint under four sections against the former DGP and the former SP who supported him.
On July 29, the CBCID
police submitted a 400-page chargesheet in Villupuram
court against the former Special DGP and former SP. Following this, both the former Special DGP and the former SP received a copy of the charge sheet and appeared before the
district Chief
criminal Arbitration
court in Villupuram on
august 9. For the past three months, the lawsuit has been pending. Yesterday, the matter was heard before the Villupuram
district Chief
criminal Arbitration Court. After then, a former Special DGP and a former SP appeared in person. In addition, the female SP who had filed the complaint made an appearance.
The courtroom doors were closed after that, and Judge Gopinathan arbitrated the female SP. The former Special DGP then sexually harassed the female SP, according to the female SP, who testified to the arbitrator for more than 6 hours. Arbitrator Gopinathan then delayed the case till tomorrow (today). Gopinathan also told the previous Special DGP, Chengalpattu SP, and the female SP to show up. The female SP is set to continue the inquiry today as well.
