Honda Motorcycle & Scooter india (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for a limited number of its premium CB1000 Hornet SP motorcycles.
The recall applies specifically to 2025 models.
The issue involves a gear-shifting malfunction, prompting honda to offer a free replacement of affected parts, even for bikes out of warranty.
Customer Support & Inspection Process
Starting january 2026, customers can visit honda BigWing Topline dealerships across india for inspection and replacement.
Honda dealers will reach out to customers via email, phone call, or SMS.
Owners can independently verify recall eligibility on Honda’s official website by entering their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).
Cause of the Gear-Shifting Issue
Honda states the root cause is excessive heat from the exhaust system.This heat softens the paint on the seating surdata-face near the mechanism.The softened area can cause the gear-shift pivot bolt to loosen, and in some cases, fall off.This results in gear-shifting difficulty and may cause riding discomfort.
