Testing of the new Jeep has started, and we can expect it to be launched sometime next year. It competes with cars like Creta, Tata Harrier and Safari, mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector.

Since it arrived in india, Jeep Compass has been one of the trendy SUVs in the country. But soon its new avatar can be seen in the market because recently 2024 Jeep Compass was seen during testing. The spy pictures show a completely new front fascia, which is quite different from the outgoing model. However, this new model can also be easily identified as Compass. It features Jeep's signature slatted grille, headlights, and overall design similar to the outgoing model. But the bumper is completely new and the fog lights are much lower than the current model. There is a possibility of getting some updates in the profile and rear section also.
May get a new engine
Jeep can also make changes in its powertrain to increase sales. A recent example is the Black Shark Edition with a 4X2 automatic combo. The Compass will get a new look with a new petrol engine and a light data-facelift. As of now, only one diesel engine is available in Jeep's indian portfolio, while the petrol engine is imported.
Turbo petrol powertrain
However, the potential of petrol engines in india cannot be taken lightly. With uncertainties regarding diesel powertrains in the future and the short life of diesel engines in regions like delhi NCR, petrol powertrains make a lot of sense for Jeep India. The new engine of Jeep will probably be a small-capacity turbo petrol engine. This will be a slightly updated version of the global engine. That means it could be the 1.3L turbo petrol engine of Renegade.
Can this engine be found in Meridian also?
The 1.3L GSE Turbo G4 turbo petrol engine is a 4-cylinder unit that can generate 150 bhp of maximum power and 270 Nm of peak torque. This engine can be equipped with a sole DDCT transmission which is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 10 seconds and a maximum speed of around 200 kmph. Considering that Meridian is not selling as much as the company wanted, it can also be equipped with this new engine.
